Direct answer

Gifts in Welcome to Elderfield change character affinity, and the current Social menu records likes and dislikes that the player discovers. It does not backfill gifts handed over before the Social update. The first Neutral, Liked, or Loved gift can receive an additional affinity gain, but the collected official notes do not publish the numeric bonus.

This answer uses the September 5, 2026 research snapshot and treats the Steam store, developer announcements, and directly observed footage as the strongest evidence. Search snippets and unsupported tables are not treated as proof. Where the full game, public Demo, and Patreon alpha expose different content, the page names that boundary instead of blending the builds together.

02

What the research confirms

Demo v0.11.17 expanded gift preferences and added the tracking interface. Patreon alpha v0.10.5 previously increased gift affinity slightly, showing that balance values can change between builds. A developer response also says the game warns the player when an NPC has already received a gift, though the exact reset rule is not established.

Confirmed here means either an official source states the point directly or two independent sources agree on the same observable behavior. It does not mean every related number, location, or unlock condition is known. Exact values stay out of the confirmed section unless the collected material supports them at the same version level.

03

How to use this information

Give one test item, read the reaction, and use the Social menu to build a preference record in the current save. Do not copy a full old gift table into a new playthrough without checking responses. Because earlier gifts are not reconstructed, repeat an observation only when you can do so without wasting an item or hitting an unknown limit.

Use the confirmed sequence first and check the in-game wording before committing rare materials or long sessions. Interface labels and broad mechanics are more stable than balance values, rewards, and exact routes during development. A step marked Pending verification (待确认) is a research lead, not a guaranteed instruction for the current build.

04

Demo, Alpha, and launch boundaries

Historical single-source matches include Tanner with Harvest Stew, Sam disliking that stew, Ellie with Pickled Eyeballs, Edwin with Lesser Holy Water, Josh with Bloodwing Moth, Molly with Platinum Ore, Alice with Lesser Holy Water, Blorph with Stealth Musk, and Celeste with Cup of Tea. These are leads, not current confirmed recommendations. Love Potion as a universal favorite is also Pending verification (待确认).

Welcome to Elderfield has a public Steam Demo, older itch and Patreon builds, and an unreleased full game in this research snapshot. A detail can be authentic and still be obsolete or unavailable in another channel. This page therefore preserves build labels and avoids turning historical footage into a launch-version promise.

05

Pending verification (待确认)

Exact affinity values, daily or weekly gifting limits, reset time, birthdays, a complete current preference table, and the effect of gift quality remain unknown. The research cannot guarantee that historical Loved, Liked, or Hated assignments survived later balancing. Publish per-character gift pages only after the launch build provides repeatable reactions.

Pending verification (待确认) means the collected sources did not reach the required confidence threshold. It may be supported by one guide, one developer comment, or footage whose build cannot be identified, but it lacks a matching current source. These points are retained because players search for them, while their uncertainty remains visible.
